S&A Publishing is a Kent-based media company providing journalistic, media training and content writing services.

S&A Publishing was formed in 2000 by directors Steve Hemsley and Ailsa Colquhoun.

It has significant expertise across a number of industry sectors including health and social care, marketing, HR, general business, sport, technology and Fintech.

In March 2018 the company acquired the leading social care magazine Care Home Management and its associated media assets.

Ailsa has been a journalist since 1990, specialising in the NHS, health, social care and medicines.  Ailsa writes for a large number of different publications and websites. These include: The Guardian, The Daily Telegraph’s Business Reporter and the Dispensing Doctors’ Association website. Ailsa also has experience of NHS commissioning, having worked for a number of NHS clinical commissioning groups.

She also writes and produces a wide range of healthcare professional training.

Steve Hemsley

Steve Hemsley - S&A Publishing Ltd

Steve has been a journalist since 1989 and writes for a large number of different publications and websites. These include The Financial Times, The Sunday Times, The Guardian, The Daily Telegraph’s Business Reporter and many business magazines including Marketing Week, The Pharmaceutical Journal and The Grocer. He is also a presenter on Fintech Finance TV and creates content for a number of websites.

He is publishing editor of Care Home Management magazine.

Media Training

Steve has been a media trainer since 2007 running general coaching sessions as well as crisis management courses for clients in the private, public and third sectors. He is also an associate trainer for leading London-based media training consultancies.

In 1998 he co-wrote the book ‘Boost your child’s confidence – 52 Brilliant Drama Techniques to Help Your Child Shine’ with actress Lucy Morgans.
